Howard athletes juggle intense training schedules and academics with the help of coaches who lead with intention. When alumni return to inspire and uplift, they spark a powerful legacy of pride, mentorship and Black excellence.

For Ida Rose, DDS, the inspiration to create an endowed scholarship for pediatric dentistry students at Howard University came through prayer and fasting during a troubled time. Now, she’s leaving a legacy for future dentists.

Meet Jimmie J. Drummond III — a Howard alum and renowned designer curating dynamic, thoughtful and immersive spaces across the greater Washington, D.C., area. From founding his own studio to educating future creatives, his journey is rooted in culture, community and bold design.

The Class of 1975, which processed during 2025 Commencement Convocation, has raised more than $607 thousand of its $1 million goal. Recognized during the Honor Roll Golden Luncheon during Commencement weekend, the class campaign continues through December 31.
