Hannah Brown (’23, B.A.), social media coordinator for Development and Alumni Relations, returned to The Yard to engage with seniors before graduation. Participants in the social media activation were able to spin a wheel to win Howard-themed merchandise.

‘Back to the Mecca’ trip immerses students in HU culture

Howard University Alumni Club of Atlanta’s annual “Back to the Mecca” bus trip April 9–13, invited 47 Atlanta students to learn about Howard and the Washington, D.C., area. Howard students are paired with the high school students for a more personalized experience.

Bison in the South is a ‘spring homecoming’

The inaugural Bison in the South “spring homecoming” took place April 4–6 at various sites in New Orleans, this year’s host for the joint celebration organized by the Howard University Alumni Clubs of Region V. Bison in the South is planned to rotate between Houston, Dallas and New Orleans.

Did you know?

HU alum Nicholas M. Perkins (’13, MBA) is CEO of Black Titan Investment, owner of Fuddruckers restaurants in North and Central America. He acquired the brand worldwide, valued at $18.5 million. Perkins served as orator for the School of Business graduation ceremony in 2024 and panelist during Entrepreneurship Week in 2023.

Daughter of the American Revolution regent preserves history

Yvonne Liser (’91, BBA) is raising $30,000 to support digitization at the Manuscript Division of the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center. Liser’s project honors education and patriotism to protect Black and women’s history. MSRC seeks to provide numerous sources to access and preserve history for generations to come.

Spring football game preludes 2025 season

Bison Nation rallied in Greene Stadium in April to preview Howard’s football talent. Fans cheered on the Blue (offense) and White (defense) teams during the annual scrimmage with Blue winning, 53–33. The season opens against FAMU at the Orange Blossom Classic, August 30, Miami Gardens.

Howard shines at Penn Relays

Both men’s and women’s track and field teams participated in the prestigious annual Penn Relays, where the women earned multiple top three finishes while several students on the men’s team placed top eight in multiple events. The meet attracts thousands of athletes in hundreds of events.
