Accepted students to visit Howard in April

By Simone Denard
Every April, thousands of accepted students flock to Howard University’s campus to learn more about Howard’s rich history and to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture that makes the University a renowned institution. Through activities, campus tours and orientations hosted by the schools and colleges, students are provided an invaluable opportunity to interact with staff and their future peers.
Students visiting the campus for the day connect with their counterparts and begin building relationships that they might maintain for the rest of their lives. Programming and fun events are designed to engage accepted students and their families who may be visiting the Washington, D.C., area for the first time.
“Accepted Students Day solidified my decision to attend Howard. I was completely in awe of the campus and the excitement exuded by the students. I felt that no university would give me the experience that Howard would,” said current senior Cahlia Cotto. Cotto is on track to graduate from Howard this May with a bachelor of arts in business management.
Accepted Students Day also overlaps with Springfest, a week of activities for currently enrolled Howard students, including a fashion show and concert.
“Springfest is a much-needed breath of fresh air for students. It serves as a time to unwind, celebrate, and recharge as we push through the final stretch of the academic year. It’s more than just a school event; it’s a reminder of our progress throughout the year. As a senior, I feel it’s a chance to create lasting memories with friends I will likely see less often following graduation,” Cotto said.
The entire campus will be buzzing with excitement as both Accepted Students Day and Springfest are underway.
