Alumni Leadership Academy names first cohort

The first cohort of the Alumni Leadership Academy takes the helm to offer guidance and expertise to Howard University’s Board of Trustees. After a one-month search period that yielded hundreds of applicants, 20 candidates were selected.

The members of the first cohort are:

The Academy initiative is one of three the Board created to get insights into the alumni community with meaningful engagement. The first cohort’s term begins with the Spring 2025 semester and will continue to the end of Fall 2025.

During the first cohort’s term, the group will meet with the Trustees monthly in virtual session to learn about strategic leadership. The cohort will engage with other University leaders such as the president and select executive leaders during the term. At least twice a year, during University events such as Charter Day, Homecoming or Commencement, the Academy will also host receptions or chats. Other occasions to engage will be sought.
