Dear Howard University Community,

Today, the 2025 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Basketball Tournament gets underway in Norfolk, Va., and our men’s and women’s teams are prepared to do their best and represent the MEAC in March Madness!

Our No. 2 seeded women’s team opens quarterfinal round action against Delaware State University with a 2 p.m. tipoff today, and our No. 4 seeded and two-time defending champion men’s team will face Morgan State University on Thursday at 6 p.m.

The tournament gets underway, with both of our teams earning prestigious honors. First-year players Blake Harper (L) and Saniyah King (R) were named MEAC Rookie of the Year for women’s and men’s basketball. Additionally, Harper made history by becoming the first player in MEAC history to win Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year honors in the same season.
