Bio

Karen is a dedicated leader, advocate, and proud alumna of Howard University, whose service to the university and its alumni community spans well over a decade. She is a graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences and the historic School of Law, and her distinguished career has been rooted in serving the community through public interest law.

Karen is also a proud parent of a daughter who is a Howard alumna and a son who is a graduate of Morehouse College, reflecting her deep commitment to the legacy and impact of HBCU excellence.

Karen previously served as President of the Atlanta Alumni Club, where her leadership helped lay the foundation for the club to become one of the most active and influential Howard alumni organizations in the country. Under her leadership and continued involvement, the club has helped raise over $250,000 in scholarships for Howard students.

A passionate ambassador for Howard, Karen has organized and led annual Howard University campus tours for high school students, exposing hundreds of young scholars to the transformational educational opportunities available at the university. These experiences have inspired many students to pursue higher education at Howard.

Karen currently serves as Region III Chair, overseeing alumni engagement across a broad region stretching from North Carolina to Florida and west Tennessee. In this role, she has worked to strengthen local clubs, increase training opportunities, and expand fundraising initiatives. She also played a key role in chartering new club and reinstating others.

Her leadership reflects a deep dedication to ensuring that future generations of students continue to benefit from the transformative legacy of Howard University. Karen believes the power of the Howard alumni network lies in its commitment to service, excellence, and lifting as we climb
