Current HUAA Role: HUAA Region IV Representative
For nearly a decade, I’ve had the privilege of being part of the Howard University Alumni Club of Indianapolis (HUAC Indy) and the wider Bison community. Staying connected to alma mater has become one of the most meaningful parts of my life. At the heart of everything I do is a deep belief in truth, service, and the power of showing up for one another.
I’m a licensed psychotherapist and certified mediator. Through The Ottice Group, I created peer support spaces where people can heal openly and without shame — because everyone deserves to feel safe and understood. That same spirit drives my work as a Senior Consultant at Indiana University Health and as an adjunct professor at Marian University, where I help shape the next generation of clinicians to lead with cultural competence and empathy.
Within HUAA, I’ve cherished every chance to serve. I chaired HUAC Indy’s Senior Sendoff Committee in 2017, served as Club President and Constituent Unit President (CUP) Lead from 2022–2024, and I’m currently the Region IV Representative.
What makes me a strong fit for Region IV Chair is simple: I genuinely value authentic relationships, and I navigate organizations very well. Region IV is wide and diverse, and it deserves a Chair who listens deeply, honors local realities, and brings clubs together around a shared vision. That’s exactly the kind of leader I aim to be.
Outside of work, I’m a devoted husband and father — and family is my greatest inspiration. I’m a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and a community partner at the Fathers and Families Center, an Indianapolis nonprofit that helps fathers show up as engaged parents and providers. Serving others has never been a side project for me. It’s the thread that runs through everything I do.
