Howard and AfroTech Partner through 2027
By Kelvin Childs
AfroTech, the world’s largest annual Black tech conference, is expanding on its association with Howard University with a partnership through 2027.
The 2025 conference was October 27–31, with “The Yard @ AfroTech” exhibition serving as a hub presenting Howard as a thought leader in innovation, culture and research; a place to solidify strategic relationships between students and industry professionals; and high-impact, measurable programming.
Inspired by Howard’s campus, “The Yard @ AfroTech” exhibition in collaboration with Blavity, AfroTech’s parent, ensures HBCU students experience a taste of The Mecca.
Howard first appeared at the 2023 AfroTech conference at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, which grew into “The Yard @ AfroTech” in 2024, offering students from Howard and HBCUs including Clark Atlanta University, Morgan State University, Prairie View A&M University and Texas Southern University targeted programming on topics such as product development, resume development and tech industry success.
Gifts to The Yard @ AfroTech contribute to the Center for Digital Business. Please ensure Howard continues to advance research, entrepreneurship and partnerships that will impact generations to come. The Yard @ AfroTech
