Golden Reunion Weekend is a tribute to legacy
By Lauren Ivey
Celebrate a milestone moment at Howard University’s Golden Reunion Weekend, taking place May 7–10, as we welcome alumni back to the Yard for a powerful tribute to legacy, excellence and lifelong connection. This beloved tradition honors the Classes of 1976, 1971, 1966 and 1961, bringing together generations of Bison to reflect on their Howard journey, reconnect with classmates and celebrate bonds that have endured across decades.
A highlight of the weekend will be a truly historic moment for the Class of 1976, who will proudly march in commemorative regalia during Commencement, symbolizing 50 years of impact, achievement and service. It is a powerful reminder that once you attend Howard, you are Howard — forever.
Golden Reunion Weekend is thoughtfully curated to offer meaningful opportunities for fundraising, fellowship, remembrance and celebration. Reunion registration includes a commemorative cap and gown for Commencement, an official 50th Reunion medallion, and a keepsake class journal designed to capture reflections, memories and messages from classmates — creating a lasting record of your shared legacy. In order to make the honor roll, please consider making your class gift by April 1.
We strongly encourage you to register early and RSVP no later than April 17 to secure your place. Alumni should also book accommodations promptly, as the early-registration hotel discount ends April 9, and participation is expected to be strong.
To register and support class fundraising efforts, please visit the Alumni Relations Reunions portal and GiveCampus. For fundraising questions, contact El Hadji D. Diagne at e_d_diagne@howard.edu. For event registration inquiries, reach out to Alisha Tesfalem at alisha.tesfalem@howard.edu.
We look forward to welcoming you back home to Howard — where your legacy continues to inspire generations to come.
