Golden Reunion Class of 1975 surpasses campaign goal
In a remarkable demonstration of loyalty and collective purpose, Howard University’s Golden Reunion Class of 1975 has surpassed its campaign goal, raising an extraordinary $1,406,733.17 in support of the University. Their achievement reflects not only generosity, but also a deep and abiding commitment to ensuring that future generations of Bison have access to the same transformative opportunities that shaped their own Howard experience.
At the time of their Golden Reunion during last Commencement, the class had already secured an impressive $607,978.47 toward their fundraising efforts. Rather than viewing reunion weekend as the culmination of their campaign, classmates felt compelled to continue building momentum. Their shared dedication to giving back — to strengthening the institution that helped define their paths — ultimately propelled them far beyond their initial goal.
The impact of their efforts is both immediate and enduring. The Class of 1975 established three endowments of $100,000 each, creating lasting resources that will provide sustained support for generations to come. In addition, they funded five current-use scholarships of $25,000 each, opening doors for deserving students to pursue academic excellence at Howard University.
Their collective achievement stands as a powerful testament to the enduring bond between alumni and alma mater. Decades after crossing the stage, the Class of 1975 continues to invest in Howard’s future, proving that the spirit of the Yard does not fade with time, but grows stronger through purposeful giving and unwavering pride.
