Fellow Bison Alumni,

I am thrilled to welcome you to the inaugural issue of Beyond the Yard, the new E-Newsletter created exclusively for Howard alumni like you. Periodically throughout the year, you will hear from us as we strive to help you stay connected to your fellow alumni and the University you love. 

I consider it a privilege to serve our Bison Family as Director of Alumni Relations. Every day, I am filled with pride and gratitude for the Howard legacy, my own family’s Howard experience, and for each and every one of you. Our Alumni Relations team works closely with the Howard University Alumni Association (HUAA) and their President Charlie Lewis to keep you connected to your Bison family.

This year, more than 13,500 Bison participated in our Howard alumni programs and services to date! As I look back on the year, there were a few special highlights. Our She’s Howard: Own Your Power partnership with the Estée Lauder Companies engaged Bison alumnae of all ages.  And we were honored to host author Brit Bennett to discuss her New York Times Bestselling book, The Vanishing Half, for our Howard University Book Club.

We’re so excited to share even more of the great things we have planned to help you stay connected to your Bison Family.
