Howard’s incredible students are devoted to their studies, but many face a financial burden that threatens their academic success. A donation to the Impact Howard Year-End Challenge may ease that burden — doubly so, as a generous donor pledges to match your tax-deductible donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $500,000.

That’s right: The Impact Howard Year-End Challenge can raise $1 million or more!

More than 40% of Howard’s undergraduate students receive federal Pell Grants, but many of them and their families still have unmet need. Closing that gap takes commitment from the Howard community and the giving spirit of alumni who have benefited from a Howard education and seek to ensure the next generation does so as well.

Your gift preserves the ability of our students to complete their studies, graduate and make their mark on the world.

Howard was recognized as one of Fulbright’s Top 20 HBCU Institutional Leaders for the 2024–2025 academic year. In addition, six of our distinguished Howard graduates have been awarded prestigious 2025–2026 Fulbright U.S. Student Program grants. And our enrollment is growing with the Class of 2028, the largest freshman class in the University’s history.

More than that, a donation is an investment in the nation’s leading HBCU, according to Forbes and U.S. News & World Report. Your gift supports innovative research, such as Howard’s partnership with Google Research to launch Project Elevate Black Voices, aimed at improving the experience of Black people using automatic speech recognition (ASR) to remove bias from hiring, healthcare and other areas.
