Another chapter in the ‘Battle of the Real HU’

This past Saturday, Howard University and Hampton University squared off for the 100th time in the Truth and Service Classic, continuing one of the longest-standing rivalries in HBCU football. Audi Field was packed with 16,813 fans, all eager to witness another chapter in the storied “Battle of the Real HU.” Dating back to 1908, this rivalry has seen countless intense matchups, and this year’s game was no exception. Although Hampton came away with a 27-20 victory, the Bison fought hard, adding to the legacy of this historic competition. The rivalry lives on, proving once again that this annual showdown is more than just a game—it’s a celebration of tradition and excellence.
