Howard University’s participation in Home Depot’s Retool Your School has supported beautification of the campus since the program started 15 years ago. Through the annual online voting challenge, historically Black colleges and universities receive grants worth tens of thousands of dollars from Home Depot to support campus sustainability and projects that improve the appearance of campuses.

This year’s campaign runs now through March 24. Support Howard now by voting as many times as you can here.

“There are a few underutilized spaces on campus that can be beautified to be made into a beautiful welcoming user-friendly space for the University. Casting as many votes to help the University win $150,000 from Home Depot can go a long way in gracing Howard with another opportunity to grow a part of the University,” said Ariel Triplett, interim director of environmental health and safety.

According to Triplett, Howard won $60,000 in 2023 due to students, faculty, staff, alumni and Howard friends participating in unlimited voting for the University. Previous sustainability projects have included clean water installation, rain gardens and bus shelter/patio/planter.

Home Depot has partnered with HBCUs to provide more than $9 million to support sustainability on college campuses across the country.
