Submit an Alumni Owned Business

The goal of the Bison Business Directory is to help support and build awareness to the amazing products and services Howard University alumni have to offer to the community. 

To be considered for the directory, the following criteria must be met: 

  • Founded, owned and/or operated by a Howard University alumni 
  • Have products and/or services currently available for purchase 

Before completing the form, please review our Frequently Asked Questions below. Once you complete the form, we will review the information and notify you within 5-7 business days on the status of your request.

By submitting a business listing, you warrant that the business described meets all the requirements outlined above. Information submitted to the directory may be accessed by individuals who are not affiliated with Howard University. Frequently Asked Questions

Who is included in the Alumni-owned business directory?

All types of businesses are welcome. For purposes of the Bison Alumni Business Directory, an alumnus/a is defined as:

"Former students of Howard University who completed at least one (1) year of studies at Howard University and withdrew in good standing may become Regular Members upon application and verification of such status by the Director of Alumni Relations of Howard University."

Since there are quarterly submission periods, will I need to re-submit my business each quarter?

No, you do not need to re-submit your business once it has been approved for the directory.

Can I make changes to my listing or remove it after it’s been added to the directory?

Yes. If you require any changes or would like to remove your business from the directory, please contact us via email at alumnibusinessdirectory@howard.edu.

The form is not accepting my website’s URL, what do I do?

This must be an external URL such as http://example.com.

 

I am a Howard University alumnus/a, do I get any discounts?

Businesses included within the directory offer a variety of goods and services. When applicable, discounts may be offered at the Owner’s discretion.

Based on the list of industries, I don’t see the right category for my business.

We understand the diversity of industries within our alumni business owner community. If for some reason there is not an industry that does not satisfy your business, please email alumnibusinessdirectory@howard.edu

If my business is only available online, do I still need to include an address?

If you have an online business, we ask that you include at least the City/State or Country in which you reside so that alumni within your area are able to see your business come up when filtering by location.

I found information that may be incorrect or inaccurate. What do I do?

We want to ensure that all information found within the Directory is the most accurate and up to date. If you recognize inaccurate information in a particular listing, please contact Alumni Relations via email at alumnibusinessdirectory@howard.edu
