Alumni Groups and Associations

In cities across the globe, alumni associations, affinity groups and clubs help connect you to your alma mater.

Associations, groups and clubs bring together alumni in locations around the world. Graduates, alumni and friends link together with others in the same region; or, that have common educational backgrounds or interests. Alumni in all groups enjoy sharing the Howard University experience among themselves and with future students.

You can expect more opportunities to participate and engage. Please stay tuned and as always, contact the Department of Alumni Relations for questions about your participation.

Howard University Medical Alumni Association

HUMAA’s mission is to support the Howard University College of Medicine (HUCM). This mission is accomplished by giving scholarships to medical students, providing long white coats for the graduating seniors, sponsoring the annual welcome luncheon for the freshmen, organizing a monthly alumni speaker series to mentor and educate current students on the range of career options available, and endowing a Chair in Basic Sciences at HUCM.

HUMAA is fully operationally independent. HUMAA was incorporated in the District of Columbia in 1945 as an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization by members of the medical Class of 1945. From the very beginning, HUMAA has been an alumni-organized and run organization.
