Class of 2029 begins journey

Move-in week welcomes first-year students to campus with enthusiastic support from Howard University Residence Life and student volunteers from organizations and clubs. Ninety-eight percent of the freshman class are hailing from states outside of Washington, D.C., and 33 percent are first-generation students.

HUAC of Atlanta celebrates campaign

The Howard University Alumni Club of Atlanta raised more than $80,000 in scholarships for incoming students. The funds were awarded during BisonFest, the club’s annual send-off celebration for first-year Bison.

It’s been 34 years since the last Howard/Temple football game but the connection is strong with many alumni and staff having graduated from one or both powerhouses. That made this year’s matchup in Philadelphia between the Bison and the Owls much more special even though the game was lost.

The Meet Me in Miami showdown highlighted Howard Bison over the FAMU Rattlers in its first game of the season at the Orange Blossom Classic in Miami Gardens. Winning 10-9 makes it even better.

On October 4, the HU Battle at the Burr returns displaying a fierce swim and dive competition, unmatched Bison pride and a campus buzzing with energy. More than a meet, it’s a celebration of Howard’s spirit, community and excellence. Mark your calendars!

HU women’s soccer faced Hampton

Howard women’s soccer faced Hampton in a spirited matchup on August 10, ending in a 0–0 draw. The game reflected the Bison’s determination, teamwork and competitive spirit — hallmarks of Howard athletics — while adding another chapter to this storied HBCU rivalry.
