Wright-White is a transformational K–12 and postsecondary leader with 30 years of achievement and service advancing schools that expand access, dignity, and opportunity for students and families. She currently leads College Achieve Greater Asbury’s K–12 schools. As Founder and CEO of Educational Design Group, she partners with public and private systems to design schools, drive strategic growth, and build sustainable leadership capacity. Newark-born and community-rooted, she builds coalitions that disrupt intergenerational poverty through rigorous learning and partnerships. A systems-thinking expert and advocate for girls’ and women’s education, she has created, launched, and led K–12 schools, including a public school for girls and a culinary/performing arts charter high school.
She was honored for Educational Leadership by the National Association of African-American Administrators; recognized as a Celebrated Community Partner by the City of Newark and Essex County, New Jersey; received College Achieve Schools’ Excellence in Education and Transformational Leadership award; and is a Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) Scholarship recipient.
Why the Candidate is Well-Suited: Howard University alumna and former member of the Howard Women’s Basketball Team, Dr. Kimberly Wright-White embodies Howard’s motto of “Truth and Service” through lifelong leadership in K–12 and postsecondary education. As a student-athlete, she ranked among Howard’s single-season blocks-per-game leaders (3.2 in 1989–90; 2.4 in 1990–91) and recorded 200 career blocks in MEAC play (1988–1991)—a testament to her tenacity and team spirit. Today, she mentors students and student-athletes, expands college access, and has organized and sponsored campus visits that inspired K–12 students to pursue Howard and other postsecondary pathways. As a proud Howard University alumna, Dr. Wright-White has advanced her career while encouraging prospective students—locally, nationally, and internationally—to consider Howard. Through her words, actions, and service, she consistently promotes Howard’s impact and consistently reflects the University’s mission and vision in her leadership.

I have used my experiences as an HU alum to navigate my successful career path and consistently influenced potential students to attend Howard University. Additionally, I have unwaveringly promoted the impact of HU on the greater society while exemplifying our mission and vision.
