Invest in Back to School campaign

Howard enthusiastically welcomes the talented students of the Class of 2030. There were enrollment challenges for about 500 students, about a fifth of the class, as the University sought to confirm their plans to finance their costs. About 200 of those students were re-enrolled after a review of their accounts.

Students come from 49 states, the District of Columbia, three U.S. territories, and from 61 nations around the world¹ to embark upon a world-class Howard education. It is the only HBCU classified as a top Carnegie-designated research institution. Forbes rated Howard number one on its list of private HBCUs², and LinkedIn named Howard number one on its inaugural Top 10 list of HBCUs in 2025³.  Howard also is the only HBCU in the top 100 of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges ranking of colleges and universities³ and one of only two HBCUs on the Forbes America’s Top 500 Colleges list⁴.

While Howard’s tuition is held flat this year, additional costs — course materials, laptops, textbooks, fees, transportation, housing and more — can be challenging to students and their families. Donations to the Back-to-School Campaign help ensure that students start their Howard experience on solid footing.
