Stigma Project

International Conference on Stigma

Stigma, when associated with HIV, another medical condition, mental illness or disability, prevents a person from seeking evaluation and treatment, disclosing the diagnosis to those most likely to provide support, and following treatment guidelines. Health related stigma destroys human dignity. Join us in the fight against stigma.

"Choosing between isolation or lying about their illness is what people with stigmatized illnesses like HIV have to deal with every day."

Many of us have conditions that imprison us with shame, barring us from seeking medical care, and preventing us from sharing our diagnosis with our loved ones. Help us prevent this from happening to anyone.
